It has been more than 6 years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released. And yet to this day, this game is daily played by thousands of people. Since the release of the game, it has received many awards including The Game Award for Game of the Year and at one point it has the record for the most awards won until 2021 when it was broken by the Last of Us Part II.

According to some sources, The Witcher 3 is due to receive next-gen update in 2021, and to deploy this update CD Projekt Red might just be working with members of the PC modding community.

As it was revealed by Halk Hogan, who created The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project mod, that CD Projekt Red has contacted him for cooperating about some kind of capacity. And it was also reported by Kotaku, that CD Projekt Red might be thinking of adding Hogan’s Mods and other best Witcher 3 mods as an official next-gen update, though this news is based on assumptions, and we can only be certain once the update comes out, and since his The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project enhanced many in-game textures by replacing it with the new one, it’ll be perfect to use it as a next-gen update.

When Kotaku reached, CD Projekt Red they confirmed that they approach many mod creators and are in contact with them for their development of an upcoming next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

They also state that they have not signed any binding agreement with anyone thus far. So this also remained a mystery that how will CD Projekt Red compensate mod creators if their work ends up officially appearing in the game.

Right now, developers certainly have their hands full with the controversial launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and how the game was pulled out from the PlayStation store. CD Projekt Red has been working hard to improve the overall quality of the game and fixing bugs.
